Broker distribution only
PromptSure transacts exclusively through licensed insurance brokers and brokerages. We do not solicit or sell insurance directly to consumers or commercial buyers. All quotes, binders, policies and related documentation are issued through the producing broker of record, who remains responsible for advising the client and for all client-facing disclosures required by the broker's licensing regulator.
Errors and omissions insurance
PromptSure maintains errors and omissions (professional liability) insurance and a fidelity bond at limits that meet or exceed the minimums prescribed by each licensing regulator in the jurisdictions where we are licensed. Evidence of coverage is available to insurer principals and regulators on request.
Conflicts of interest and compensation
PromptSure receives commissions and, where applicable, profit commission or contingent compensation from insurer principals for policies bound under our delegated authority. We disclose all compensation arrangements that could reasonably be expected to influence the recommendations made to a client. Brokers placing business with PromptSure are responsible for their own conflict of interest disclosures to clients in accordance with applicable law, including the disclosure standards published by FSRA, the AMF and the Canadian Council of Insurance Regulators (CCIR).
Fair treatment of customers
PromptSure adheres to the CCIR and Canadian Insurance Services Regulatory Organizations (CISRO) Guidance: Conduct of Insurance Business and Fair Treatment of Customers. We design products, distribute, underwrite, service and handle claims with the goal of producing fair outcomes throughout the insurance lifecycle. We monitor our delegated authorities and broker partners on this basis.
Anti-money laundering and sanctions
PromptSure complies with Canadian anti-money laundering, anti-terrorist financing and economic sanctions legislation, including the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA) and regulations administered by FINTRAC, OSFI and Global Affairs Canada. We screen counterparties against applicable sanctions lists and will not knowingly transact business with sanctioned individuals, entities or jurisdictions.
Complaints handling
PromptSure maintains a written complaints handling policy that meets the requirements of the AMF Sound Commercial Practices Guideline and equivalent expectations of common-law regulators. A complaint is any written expression of dissatisfaction relating to a service or product provided by PromptSure for which the complainant expects a response.
Submit complaints in writing to info@promptsure.ca or by mail to [MAILING ADDRESS, CITY, PROVINCE, POSTAL CODE]. We will acknowledge receipt within five business days and provide a substantive response within thirty days. If you are not satisfied with our final response, you may escalate to:
- The General Insurance OmbudService (GIO) at giocanada.org for property and casualty matters.
- For Quebec residents, the AMF, which can review the complaint file at your request.
- The provincial or territorial regulator listed in the licence schedule above.
